Thursday - June 5, 2003

We summitted Denali last Thursday (May 29, 2003) and descended very quickly to the Base Camp. By Sunday, we had elected to fly out of the base camp to Talkeetna given the time pressures facing the team. Members had flights to catch, and I had to be available for Nancy's arrival this weekend for our wedding in Homer.

I will have to return in 2009 to do the walk out from Kahiltna Base Camp to Forks Roadhouse near Petersville. The latter is still where I will start riding back to Seattle later in June.

I will post a more detailed update here within the next few days.
